Meeting come to a close. Thanks again all.
Football section coming to close after almost two hours. We have tried to get as many questions in as possible in amongst the Parliament members in the room and hopefully have asked a cross section. We have had hundreds of question and at one stage almost 1,000 people on here. Appreciate that level of interest and rest assured, all feedback, wherever it comes from, is passed back to Jez and other club officials.
Q: Electronic scoreboard still playing up. Could cause serious issues with supporters.
JM: We're aware of the situation and we're in the process of sorting it.
KT: Those squads are all about development and preparing players for the first team. Our 18s are particularly strong and we think we have a number of players that will turn professional in the next year or so. With our 21s, we want them to be a bit of a younger group, more of a U19s. Scott Sellars is one of the best coaches at developing young players in this country. Jerry Gill arrives with a fantastic pedigree. We have a fantastic Academy set up.
Q: Can you give us an update on where you think our U18s/U21s are at the moment?
Dave Benton referring back to Ryan McKnight's presentation. Talking about what sort of club do we want? A lot of is about Jez saying previously that we could be up there in the top five clubs in the country or doing something like an Everton. Builds up expectation. When it is clubs that have spent a lot of money who are up there in the Championship this season. If it was changed what fans should expect from the club - eg develop our players over the next few years - then it would be different. Big headlines have always been that we should be up there in the top six or ten in country. Expecations not met. And that is when people become disillusioned and disappointed. We need a mission statement or philosophy of what the club is about.
Dennis Green: I was at the meeting the meeting for the SJH statue and I wholeheartedly agree that this came from the fans and I think that it's a sad reflection that it has been received in the way it has.
@MarkF: Jez: it's not over yet! But yes we think we should challenge for promotion every single year we are outside the top division. We should aim for that. It is going to be a tough ask now to make up the points difference. But not completely what everything is measured on.
@Rich: Jez has just answered that Rich. Hoping the fans will contribute. But then, 'it will get built....'
@Paul: Response criticises the way the club put the news out. Jez says we are in a situation where whatever the club does at the moment they will get criticised. Jez says one of the most depressing time he remembers was reading blogs from fans denigrating the Museum project. Says we are one of the few clubs with a Museum, especially outside big clubs. Feel if people don't want to donate to honour SJH's memory that is up to supporters. Supporters cannot get to everyone so the club trying to help.
Jez adds: We are responding to supporters who want the statue and so do we. Says it is up to every single fan to ask themselves: Is it worth me giving £10 back to SJH for all he did for our football club and all the fantascit memories he has created? Rest assured. This statue will be built, Come what may! Surely everyone can read between the lines on that one? I hope every fan can give something back then it is the fans doing it.
@Paul: Steve Galloway a FP member says it was a suggestion made to him not long after SJH passed away. It is a gesture from the fans who had contacted the club via Steve. And local businesses. To put statute up as a tribute from people of Wolverhampton, not just football club. Big misunderstanding. Something the fans should do. SJH gave millions to this place and blood, sweat and tears because he loved it as much as we did. So why shouldn't we do something to say thank you to Sir Jack? Not just about the club doing it.
Yorkshire Wolves Supporters Club question about statue, Understand this has come from fans. But they are asking why one earth fans are being asked to fund project when this should be paid for by the club?
Mark Griffiths. In your opinion do you think more STs would be sold in advance if everyone knew the schedules in advance? Jez says the least disruption to the fixture list the better. Feels this is obvious. We are at one with the fans on this but cannot just say Sky is no good for the game. They are crucial for the game. We are in dialogue with Sky at the very highest levels and they understand the situation. They put a lot of money in and promote the game fantastically well. We just have to make sure we don't disrupt the fixture list too much. SKy Sports do not want empty stadiums.
